Mustang Family Weekend Check-In 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. University Union Plaza Check-In for Mustang Family Weekend, grab your spirit pack and program, and embark on your weekend's adventures!
Industrial Technology and Packaging Student Project Booths 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. University Union Plaza Stop by the booths in the UU Plaza to learn about Learn By Doing in the Industrial Technology and Packaging department! Students will be sharing the products they're making this quarter as part of the ITP 467 senior capstone course.
Free Recreation Center Use 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. Recreation Center
  • Wear your Mustang Family Weekend wristband and get free access to the Rec Center throughout the weekend!

  • Must be over 16 years of age to use the facilities.

  • Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

  • All attendees must also bring a photo ID.

  • Attendees will be asked to sign a liability waiver upon arrival.

  • Lockers are day-use only; no items are to be left overnight. Locks are not provided but can be purchased.

  • Attendees must provide their own towel.

The Cal Poly Low Income Taxpayer Clinic: Learning by Helping 9 a.m. Building 3, Room 111 This presentation will discuss how students in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic use their accounting skills to help people resolve controversies with the IRS.
Poly Plant Shop 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bldg. 48 Visit Cal Poly's student-run plant shop and pick up some plants for your student's room! Stroll through Leaning Pine Arboretum while you're in the area.
College of Architecture and Environmental Design Tour 10:10 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Building 05, Room 212 The College of Architecture and Environmental Design Student Ambassadors will provide a brief tour of college facilities and an overview of its five departments. 
Packaging – A Strategic Business Function 10:10 a.m. Building 2, Room 212 Packaging continues to grow beyond being a support function that puts product in containers to become a strategic business function aimed at creating value throughout the value chain. Learn why "packaging is the product" and get a brief tour of world class.
Campus Tour 11:10 a.m. –12:40 p.m. Meet in University Union Learn all about Cal Poly from the experts, our Poly Reps!
General Engineering Meet & Greet Session 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bldg. 197, Room 104 The General Engineering Program (GENE) will host a Meet & Greet session. GENE Director Jean Lee will be on hand to answer questions about the program.
Meat Processing Center 12 – 5:30 p.m. Bldg. 155 Take a short scenic drive out to the Meat Processing Center to pick up your Cal Poly meats!
Start-ups Start Here (with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) 1 p.m.  Building 2, Room 210 The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) prepares students to become emerging leaders and career ready entrepreneurs who generate innovative solutions to real-world problems, research promising technologies and develop viable business plans.
Study Abroad Showcase 2 - 3 p.m. Building 52, Room E-27 The Cal Poly International Center will be hosting a Study Abroad Alumni Panel. At this session, you will hear from current Cal Poly students about their experiences abroad and how it impacted their academic, career and personal goals.
Preserving Your Family Papers & Personal Digital Archiving 2 - 3 p.m. Kennedy Library, Room 409 Learn some of the basics of archival preservation from Cal Poly's archivists. This session will help ensure your family papers, photographs, and digital memories remain safe and accessible for future generations. Time for Q and A provided.
Cal Poly Farm Stand 2 – 5:30 p.m. Highland Drive Pick up your student-grown certified organic vegetables and seasonal fruits from the Cal Poly Organic Farm. 
Mustang Lanes Free Bowling 2 – 8 p.m. Mustang Lanes in the University Union Enjoy a game of bowling and arcade games at San Luis Obispo's only bowling alley! 
Food Science & Nutrition Department Cal Poly Chocolates Table 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Building 24 Visit the Food Science & Nutrition Department's table to learn more about Cal Poly chocolate products that use strictly organic and Fair Trade certified chocolate. You can also purchase your own chocolates right there at Campus Market!

Volleyball vs. CSUN* 7 p.m. Mott Gym Watch the lady Mustangs take on CSUN in an exciting conference game!
Homefree* 8 p.m. Performing Arts Center When one thinks of a cappella ensembles, country music does not typically come to mind. That's all changing with Home Free, the five-man band that has become known for its show-stopping performances that mix signature no-instrument, all-vocal music with quick-witted humor. Since storming the music scene four years ago and holding the nation's spotlight as the winners of NBC's The Sing Off, Home Free has become a household name with its tight harmonies and strong vocals peppering Nashville country standards with country-dipped pop hits.

Aerospace Engineering Rocket Competition 9 a.m. Upper Soccer Field AERO 121 students compete against each other with their rockets they designed. 
College of Science and Mathematics College Overview 9:30 - 11 a.m. Building 180 Room 101 The Dean and Associate Deans will provide more insight into the College of Science and Mathematics.
Orfalea College of Business Learn by Doing Presentation 10 a.m. Building 3, Room 213

Students and parents are invited to learn about the services and opportunities that students have access to in order to maximize their experience in the Orfalea College of Business. Coffee & Careers: Exploring Where Your Liberal Arts Degree Can Take You 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Bldg. 6, Room 128 (PAC Pavilion) Students and parents are invited to join College of Liberal Arts staff and students to explore the many career paths of a liberal arts degree and to learn ways to maximize opportunities at Cal Poly.  Come meet Associate Dean Penny Bennett and learn how the College of Liberal Arts is leading the way for interdisciplinary opportunities on campus. Hear from career counselors, academic advisors, and student ambassadors about the vast array of career paths for students earning a liberal arts degree from Cal Poly. Cal Poly Talks 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. UU 220 Be inspired in these TEDTalk-style lecture series by our outstanding faculty who will share their passions, research, and how "Learn By Doing" manifests in their classrooms. 
Architectural Engineering Family Weekend BBQ 11 a.m. Bldg. 21 Courtyard and KTGY Gallery (21-105A) Join the Architectural Engineering department for its annual Mustang Family Weekend tri-tip barbecue, photo booth, and department head's presentation. 
Supporting Your Student’s Mental and Emotional Health 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Phillips Hall (Building 6, Room 124) Join one of Campus Health and Wellbeing's licensed psychologist, Dr. Hannah Roberts, for a discussion about supporting your student's mental health through their transition into college life.

Poly Canyon Structural Design Laboratory Tour/Hike 1 – 2:30 p.m. Meet at Poly Canyon Gate near the intersection of Village Drive and Poly Canyon Road Guided hike of more than 20 student/industry structures in the beautiful Poly Canyon. Bring your hiking shoes, hat and water. No restrooms or vehicle access. 
Construction Management Department Overview and Tailgate 1:30 – 4 p.m. Bldg. 186, Room B202 Come and see what the Construction Management Department is all about. Tickets for Construction Management  tailgate will be handed out during the meeting. Please show promptly at 1:30 pm.

Mustang Marching Band at the Football Game 5 p.m., 6:05 p.m., and post-game Dexter Lawn and Spanos Stadium The powerful Pride of the Pacific Mustang Marching Band — over 200 members strong! — will perform three times on Saturday: at 5 p.m. on Dexter Lawn before the football game, again at 6:05 p.m. in Spanos Stadium for the game, and the group's final performance will be a post-game concert to the east stands.

*Please note: Football and tailgate/barbecue tickets are NOT included in the Mustang Family Weekend registration fee. Those tickets, along with tickets for the Parent Farewell Breakfast, Legacy Lunch, performing arts and athletic events, can be purchased separately through the Mustang Family Weekend registration site.
