Who can I bring to Mustang Family Weekend?
Mustang Family Weekend is open to all: parents, supporters, family members, and alumni!
Where do I park when I get to campus?
There will be signs on campus during Mustang Family Weekend to help guide you to the appropriate parking lots. A printable weekend parking pass is emailed to all registrants prior to Mustang Family Weekend. More information will be available closer to the event date.
Where do I check in when I arrive to campus?
Check-in traditionally takes place in the University Union on Friday and Saturday (8am-3pm). If you are unable to make the check-in times, you can have your student bring their Cal Poly ID to the check-in booth to complete the process for you.
What is the weather like in San Luis Obispo?
San Luis Obispo has variable weather, and is known for having warm afternoons and cooler evenings. In October, afternoons in San Luis Obispo are typically in the mid 70's and nights are in the low 50's.
Do I need to register for Mustang Family Weekend?
Yes, only those who have registered specifically for Mustang Family Weekend will have access to the official weekend events. Please consider registering as early as possible, as certain events tend to fill up quickly.
What does the registration fee cover?
The registration fee covers admission for your entire family, a weekend parking pass, and the Mustang Family Weekend gear. This fee also allows us to provide a wide variety of academic and special events open to all registrants throughout the weekend.
Do I have to pay the registration fee for each guest that's attending?
No, only one registration fee is required per family for the weekend.
Do events sell out?
Yes, some of our events sell out quickly, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
What events are scheduled during Mustang Family Weekend?
As Mustang Family Weekend nears, our website will have details on all events for the weekend. In past years, alumni and families have enjoyed: Performing Arts Center concerts; Reunions; Tailgate BBQ and Football Game; Classes Without Quizzes; Soccer Game; academic college and department-specific events; University Union Rally; Bowling; Movie Night; Corn Maze.
Do I have to purchase event tickets for my student?
Students are granted free access to the student section at all Cal Poly sporting events. If you would like to sit with your student, they will also have to purchase a ticket to sit outside of the student section. For all other events, your student will also have to purchase a ticket to attend.
Are there ADA compliant accommodations at events?
Yes, ADA accommodations are available throughout the weekend, including access to shuttles and wheelchairs.
